Scholar (My Life Outside the Hoop)

I’m proud of the work that I do outside the hoop (a.k.a. my day job).  When I’m not hooping, I spend a lot of time thinking about how people learn.  I recently completed my Ph.D. in Education at UC Berkeley, and I work as an educational researcher, evaluator, and consultant.  My work contributes to the development of teaching materials and strategies that provide better learning opportunities for all types of learners.  I’m particularly interested in understanding the ways visual representations can be employed to support science learning in collaborative settings.

Hooping provides a nice balance to the academic side of my life because it keeps me fit, and it helps me stay connected to the Bay Area community.
